Steam for Linux to Receive a Few Great Games Soon

A batch of new games have been Greenlit for release on the Steam for Linux platform, with the help of the community.

From time to time, Steam brings more games into the fold by using a feature called Greenlight. This program ensures that developers who don't have the backing of a major publisher get to see their games on major platforms, such as Steam.

The process of Steam Greenlight is very simple. The developers show their project and the community decides which game should be published. In this way, only the very interesting games actually make it, ensuring that they meet great quality standards.

Here is the list of games that made it through Steam Greenlight and which will be available on the Linux platform:


Among the Sleep is a first-person horror adventure produced by the Krillbite Studio. The developers initially went to Kickstarter to fund their game and managed to raise enough money for a resounding success.

In Among the Sleep, players will be able to play from a child's perspective, but with a twist. The imagination of the child will also play a heavy role in the game.

BROFORCE is an arcade action game developed by Free Lives and it's inspired by titles such as Contra and Metal Slug.

“A ridiculously violent platform game about being awesome action heroes from the 80s and 90s while slaying satanic terrorists and aliens while unraveling an evil plot to destroy the planet while dealing with being awesome action heroes from the 80s and 90s,” states the developer in what could be the best description of a game ever made.

Chasm is also a 2D adventure, but it's actually a fantasy ARPG platformer featuring procedurally generated Metroid-like dungeons.

Darkwood is yet another top-down horror adventure, built by Acid Wizard Studio, but with a twist. If the character dies, your save games get deleted and you have to start over.

StarMade is a cube space shooter developed with the help of voxel technology (3D pixels), in a procedural universe that expands infinitely in each direction.
